13 Kislev 5773

Dear Children of Israel,

Now, more than ever, it is absolutely critical that we remain focused on the big picture and not allow ourselves to be distracted by the yetzer.

Do not allow yourselves to be distracted by politics and political maneuverings. It's a waste! Our redemption will never come about through politics - one of the nastiest inventions of mankind. It's a system that depends on lies, deception and slander - things that make up the old reality and which have no place at all in the new one that is coming.

Do not waste any of the valuable time that is left to us following it, worrying about it, or speaking of it. The entire process is completely irrelevant. It's a smoke screen meant to distract you from the more important work of making the personal tikkunim that will bring us to the complete redemption, which is coming just within our reach.

Stay focused on what really counts!

As reported at Yeshiva World News:

Rav Yaakov Yosef: Learn from the Syrians
HaKol HaYehudi reports that during a shiur in Hebron, HaRav Yaakov Yosef told participants that “we should take a lesson from the Syrians as how to wipe out and crush one’s enemy”, explaining that we must not address Hamas with a light hand, but learn from Damascus how one puts down one’s enemy.
Rav Yaakov Yosef, the eldest son of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita explained that we are in the midst of a military offensive and it is incumbent on the government and military commanders to understand what our mission is and what actions must be taken towards defending Eretz Yisrael and its inhabitants.

I agree, but we could go back further in time to our most famous warrior-king - King David of blessed memory.  That's what Mashiach would do.  He's not called the son of David for nothing.
